“A brand-new Naruto anime project will be revealed at New York Comic Con 2026 on October 10, with a worldwide livestream confirmed.”

After years of waiting, Naruto fans finally have a major reason to get excited. The official Naruto website and social media channels have confirmed that brand-new information about the future of the anime franchise will be revealed during New York Comic Con 2026.

A special presentation titled “NARUTO: What's Next?” will take place on October 10, with a worldwide livestream allowing fans across the globe to watch the announcement live.

And unlike many of the rumors surrounding the franchise in recent years, this time we have official confirmation that a completely new Naruto anime project is involved. Naruto Official Site

A brand-wew Naruto anime has been confirmed

The official Naruto website describes the upcoming presentation as the world premiere of information regarding a completely new anime, while VIZ Media says the panel will feature updates about Naruto animation, new announcements and a look at the future roadmap of the franchise. The panel will take place on Saturday, October 10, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM EDT on the Empire Stage at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York.

The guest lineup makes the announcement even more interesting. Junko Takeuchi, the Japanese voice of Naruto Uzumaki, and Noriaki Sugiyama, the Japanese voice of Sasuke Uchiha, will both appear at the event.

They will be joined by Yoshihiko Tominaga, Executive Producer at Studio Pierrot / PIERROT FILMS, the studio that has been responsible for Naruto's anime adaptations for many years. VIZ

The presence of both Naruto and Sasuke's Japanese voice actors, alongside a senior Studio Pierrot producer, has naturally raised expectations for what could be revealed.

What exactly will be announced?

The official material currently does not reveal the story, episode count, release date or even the exact format of the new anime project.

What we do know is that the presentation will include world-premiere information about a completely new Naruto anime.

That means we still cannot say with certainty whether this is connected to the long-awaited new episodes of the original Naruto, an entirely new series, a special project or something else.

The official Naruto website has even launched a dedicated countdown page for the October 10 presentation, showing just how significant the announcement is expected to be for the franchise.

One of the biggest unanswered questions is the fate of the four new episodes of the original Naruto anime.

The project was originally announced in 2023 as part of the anime's 20th anniversary celebrations. The episodes were scheduled to begin airing in September 2023, but Studio Pierrot postponed their release in order to further improve their quality.

Since then, there have been very few concrete updates.

Because of that, many fans are wondering whether New York Comic Con could finally bring a new release date or additional information about those episodes.

However, there is currently no official confirmation connecting the four anniversary episodes to the October 10 announcement, so this remains speculation rather than confirmed information.

Naruto is preparing for its next big chapter

Whatever the project turns out to be, October 10 is shaping up to be an important day for the Naruto franchise.

The panel will also reveal new information about the NARUTO CARD GAME, currently scheduled for release in 2027, while VIZ Media says fans can expect additional franchise announcements and a look at the roadmap for the future of the Naruto universe. Naruto Official Site

There is also a fitting detail behind the date itself: October 10 is Naruto Uzumaki's birthday.

Fans who cannot attend New York Comic Con will still be able to watch the presentation live through the official NARUTO / BORUTO YouTube channel.

The worldwide livestream begins at 6:00 AM JST on October 11, which corresponds to 11:00 PM CEST on October 10 for viewers in much of Central Europe. Naruto Official Site

So, we still don't know whether the announcement will involve Naruto's four long-delayed anniversary episodes, Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, or something completely unexpected.

What is confirmed is that new information about a completely new Naruto anime is coming — and we'll finally find out what Studio Pierrot has been working on at New York Comic Con on October 10.
