One of the greatest RPGs of all time, Planescape: Torment, has received an unofficial DLC, which is a little strange...
Almost 27 years after the release of this legendary RPG, Planescape: Torment has received something that many fans would have never expected even in their wildest dreams. And that is a completely new fan-made expansion called Blizzard in Baator. The first part of the mod is now available for download and brings a completely new story, locations, characters, music, and even new companions.
This isn't exactly a regular mod that just adds a few quests and calls it a day. The creators of this mod claim that Blizzard in Baator is such a large project that it will be released in multiple parts, and they even describe it as content that is "significantly larger" than Baldur's Gate expansion Siege of Dragonspear. The first act takes players to the Frozen Wastes of Cania, the eighth circle of Baator, or in other words, Hell. There, a completely new adventure awaits The Nameless One. Alongside the new content, this mod also restores certain cut content from the original game that never made its way into the final version of the game.
Planescape: Torment is still considered one of the best-written RPGs ever made, and even though it received an Enhanced Edition, it never got a true sequel or any serious remake. Because of that, Blizzard in Baator is probably the most ambitious project the community has created for this game in the last few decades, literally. For many fans, this is the closest thing we will ever get to new Planescape: Torment content.
The first fan reactions have been mostly very positive. Across the internet, fans have called this project incredible and expressed great excitement about getting a completely new adventure in the Planescape universe after so many years.
If you're a fan of classic CRPG titles, Blizzard in Baator is probably one of the most interesting modding stories of 2026. After nearly three decades, Planescape: Torment has received a new adventure, and the first act is already playable right now. For a game from 1999, that's a pretty crazy achievement!
