Microsoft may cancel Marvel's Blade and close Arkane Studio
“Microsoft has reportedly started considering shutting down Arkane Studios, while also considering canceling Marvel's Blade.”
Microsoft has reportedly started considering shutting down Arkane Studios, while also considering canceling Marvel's Blade.
The latest report has sparked a huge wave of discussion among Xbox fans. According to the latest information circulating online, Microsoft is reportedly considering canceling Marvel's Blade in the future, and on top of that, it is also considering completely shutting down Arkane Studios, the developer behind the Dishonored and Deathloop series. It would be truly sad if they actually did something like that!
According to the latest reports, Marvel's Blade was originally planned to be released earlier, but has reportedly been delayed until late 2027. This is because it allegedly exceeded its planned budget, and due to major cuts across the Xbox division, Microsoft is also reportedly considering canceling the project entirely.
The same report also claims that the company has considered shutting down or even selling several studios, including Arkane Lyon.
Fans have reacted with a great deal of disbelief. Across social media and the internet, many are hoping these are only internal discussions and that they aren't real, and that the shutdowns never actually happen.
Many are especially concerned because Microsoft has already shut down several studios over the past few years, so part of the community believes this kind of scenario is not that far from becoming reality.
If all of this information turns out to be true, Xbox could lose one of its most talented and respected studios. Meanwhile, Marvel's Blade could become yet another major game that unfortunately never sees the light of day.
