Yes, really! Players are basically sitting on a pile of good loot without even realizing it. What you get are free daily items, including gear like shields, consumables, etc. But also things that can help you during runs. And in a game where you lose everything when you die, that’s HUGE!

To unlock this secret loot, you need to complete faction upgrades and quests. After that, you gain access to these daily free rewards. Players on Reddit have confirmed it.

But… this actually says something deeper about the game.
It means the menu is poorly designed. If a game hides important systems, that means the UI failed, because players aren’t using core mechanics. And the game is already hardcore Marathon is an extraction shooter, meaning you enter a run, gather loot, and if you die, you lose everything. Every free item is a big advantage. This basically means players who know about this have an advantage, while casual players suffer for no reason.

The game has a deep system… but it hides it behind a confusing UI.

Marathon is a first-person shooter video game developed and published by Bungie. Announced in May 2023, the game is the first new entry in Bungie’s original Marathon series since Marathon Infinity (1996). The new Marathon is a multiplayer extraction shooter focused on player versus player (PvP) gameplay and loot extraction mechanics. It was released for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on March 5, 2026.
