Today is already the third day of getting GTA 6 videos showing off gameplay fragments ahead of the Extended Look scheduled to air on Netflix on August 27th. So far, we've received about 5 clips, and the leaker has no intention of stopping until Rockstar Games backs down on what they announced regarding not launching the game on disc. People at Rockstar are actively working on removing the footage, so just a few hours after a clip drops, it becomes hard to find.
Up until now, the situation seemed less serious than it turned out to be, as it was assumed the footage was stolen from Rockstar and came from an older build—say, from 2023, as indicated in the video metadata. Yesterday's video gave a very different impression, however, as it featured a song that was publicly released in 2025.
Today, in their latest video, the leaker posted a clip where they shoot a wall to spell out the word "LEEK," confirming they didn't just steal recorded clips, but actually possess a functional build of the game. Of course, we still don't know how fully playable this build is or whether the leaker has access to the main story.
If that turns out to be the case, the next few days could bring a repeat of what happened with 007 First Light—having the ending spoiled weeks before launch. A similar thing happened before that with The Last of Us Part 2, where a good portion of the plot was exposed months ahead of release.
