Kingdom Come developers confirm Middle-earth Open-World RPG
"Warhorse Studios has officially confirmed that it is working on a new project set in the world of The Lord of the Rings following months of industry rumors."
Warhorse Studios, the studio behind the acclaimed Kingdom Come: Deliverance series, has officially confirmed that it is working on a new project set in the world of The Lord of the Rings following months of industry rumors.
According to the studio, the upcoming title will be an open-world RPG set in Middle-earth. Specific gameplay details, story information, and a release window have not yet been revealed, but the announcement has already generated significant excitement among RPG fans.
Given Warhorse’s reputation for delivering deep world-building and immersive role-playing systems with the Kingdom Come franchise — particularly with its latest installment, which many players consider one of the strongest open-world RPG experiences in recent years — expectations for the Middle-earth project are understandably high.
The new RPG is reportedly being financed by Embracer Group, which currently holds major rights connected to the The Lord of the Rings franchise.
In addition to the Middle-earth project, Warhorse also confirmed that another Kingdom Come adventure is currently in development.
For now, the studio is keeping further details under wraps, stating that more information will be shared when the time is right.
