Recently, it was confirmed that GTA 6 actually won’t have any paid ads, nor real-life brands. This was officially stated by the CEO of Take-Two Interactive, Strauss Zelnick.

Specifically, we know that Grand Theft Auto VI will not feature any real-life brands, and it also won’t include any classic in-game advertisements.
The reason for this is that the world of the game is completely fictional, and adding real-life ads and brands would completely break that idea of a fictional crime world.
But that’s not the only reason; Strauss Zelnick also said that including ads in a $70–$80 game would be disrespectful to players.
At the same time, Grand Theft Auto VI stays true to its well-known style, which means it will only include parody brands, not real ones.

In essence, Rockstar Games does not want to monetize everything possible.
This is a signal that the focus is on immersion and the true identity of the game, without extra revenue through ads.
They also already know that Grand Theft Auto VI will generate a HUGE amount of money anyway, so ads aren’t needed at all.

The industry is moving toward more monetization with battle passes, microtransactions, and ads.
Because of that, some expected Grand Theft Auto VI to introduce ads since it would bring MASSIVE profit.
But Grand Theft Auto VI has always used fake brands and satire, which is part of the series’ identity.
For example, sports games like NBA 2K include ads because they are realistic.
But Grand Theft Auto VI is not realistic in that way.

This is a HUGE WIN for all of us players, because there is no “buy the game and watch ads” scenario.
It shows that Rockstar Games still prioritizes quality and immersion over monetization.
It also confirms that Grand Theft Auto VI will not change its core identity, which is great.

So no—there are no ads in Grand Theft Auto VI, no real brands, and the focus remains on a fictional world and satire.
This is a BIG W for the community, because Grand Theft Auto VI stays Grand Theft Auto VI, not an ad platform with gameplay.

If they add any microtransactions or something like a battle pass, it could only exist in Grand Theft Auto VI Online mode.
BUT NEVER IN SINGLEPLAYER!
