Sucker Punch has announced Ghost of Yotei Complete Edition, which brings various additions, with the most significant certainly being an expansion that brings a new story called Echoes of Sekigahara.
This isn't a story where we'll follow a character unknown to us until now; on the contrary, we will still follow Atsu, only this time we will jump between the past and the present. To be precise, the past part refers to the Battle of Sekigahara, which was only mentioned in passing in the game's main story. As for the present moment, in it, we will visit a new region where the first enemy we defeated in this game—The Snake—was located.
Although the new story is certainly the most important addition, alongside it, we are also getting a new single-player mode called Most Wanted. This is essentially Sucker Punch's iteration of roguelike mechanics, where at the start of each round we will accept a contract for a target, and the goal is to kill as many enemies as possible. By fulfilling that goal, we get new perks, characters, and upgrades. We didn't get an exact list, but judging by the trailer, Atsu will be able to wield 2 Katanas, while Oyuki will use a kusarigama.
The Complete Edition has already appeared in digital stores at a price of $70, but by purchasing it now, you have to wait for the Echoes of Sekigahara expansion and the Most Wanted mode since they will arrive on October 1st. However, if you make the purchase by September 30th (essentially, if you pre-order it), on that day you will also receive the Sakai armor, which is a reference to the first game.
By purchasing this edition now, you get the online co-op mode Ghost of Yotei Legends and all the content included in the Deluxe Edition. If you already own the game, you don't have to buy the complete edition at full price; instead, you can upgrade your standard version for $15.
