Genshin new boss teased, its related to Heavenly Principles!

On March 28, 2026, Genshin Impact developers posted a short teaser on their Instagram account showing the newest boss fight coming in the next version, and you won’t believe who it is.

In the upcoming version “Luna VI” in Genshin Impact, a new boss fight will be added. This new boss has a very specific design that sparked interest among many fans, mainly because his arm is made of the SAME BLACK-RED CUBES used by the Heavenly Principles. To recap: at the beginning of the game, the Heavenly Principles stopped us from leaving Teyvat and fought us using those same cubes, taking our sibling and sealing our powers.

It seems that this new boss also uses THOSE SAME CUBES. Not only that, but in the trailer we saw that he uses those cubes in combat as well, although it looks like he cannot control them as well as the Heavenly Principles, since they don’t move as freely as before. Another interesting detail is that this new boss doesn’t have legs. They appear to be replaced by those cubes, and he floats using them.

The name of this new boss is “Watcher: Fallen Vigil,” as announced during the Genshin Special Program Live Stream for the new version “Luna VI.”
“A shadow construct born from the overflow of the mighty primordial being. Though enthroned in the pillar hall high in the heavens, it will in the end fall into the mortal world once it opens its eye...” is the description of this new boss, suggesting a mysterious lore.

As for the boss arena, the fight will most likely take place in the new area called “The Temple of Space.” It is a hidden area owned by the Heavenly Principles, also known as Asmoday. It’s safe to assume the boss fight will happen there, considering the similarities between the boss and the Heavenly Principles, as well as the presence of those cubes throughout the area. The same boss was also shown during the teaser for this new location.

In terms of abilities and design, the boss wields a large polearm and can control it without direct contact. He also has a large right wing.

This raises a big question: if this new boss and the Heavenly Principles are so similar, does that mean they are related? Or could this boss even BE the Heavenly Principles? Nothing is confirmed, but it’s reasonable to assume they are connected, since no other character in Genshin has used these cubes before; not even Descenders or gods like the Moon Sisters. Based on the previously mentioned area “The Temple of Space,” and the possibility that the fight takes place there, he could even be her guardian or something similar.

Fans are very excited in the comments about this new boss, with many saying it looks like Phainon, a character from one of their games “Honkai: Star Rail.” Many also believe it could be the Heavenly Principles or someone related to her, expecting a huge lore reveal.
