Gang of Dragon is facing cancellation risk!
"Nagoshi Studio, the same studio behind the game Gang of Dragon, deleted its YouTube channel, along with all the videos."
Nagoshi Studio, the same studio behind the game Gang of Dragon, deleted its YouTube channel, along with all the videos.
The channel was quickly restored, but without any explanation from them. This of course immediately caused panic among fans, because moves like this are almost never random.
Deleting social channels usually means the project is in trouble, rebranding, or even a potential studio shutdown. In this case, the timing is especially suspicious since there are already rumors that NetEase pulled funding.
This is not an isolated incident, but fits into the already bad situation around the game.
The studio is led by Toshihiro Nagoshi, who is behind the major Yakuza / Like a Dragon series.
His new project, Gang of Dragon, is the studio’s first big project and was revealed at The Game Awards 2025.
But the problem is that the studio reportedly asked for an additional $40+ million to finish the game. Because of that, funding started to dry up, and if there’s no money, there’s no finished game.
Although there is still no official cancellation, everything points to a possible shutdown of the project or a serious restart. Some sources even suggest the game could be completely canceled if they don’t find a new investor.
The only good sign is that the Steam page and trailer still exist.
Deleting the channel alone is a bad signal, and bringing it back without explanation is even weirder. And the main issue here is funding.
Right now, it looks like the project is on the edge of cancellation, unless someone steps in with money at the last moment.
