Neverovatno! GameStop wants to buy eBay, and an offer of $55 billion has already been made!
A massive acquisition and a huge deal that no one expected until now.
GameStop has made an offer of $55.5B for eBay. The price is $125 per share, part cash and part stock. GameStop already owns about 5% of eBay. CEO Ryan Cohen wants to merge the companies and create serious competition for Amazon. BUT this offer is non-binding, which means nothing is certain yet because it’s not final.
This is either a genius move or a completely crazy one. Because GameStop is MUCH smaller than eBay, so they are literally trying to buy a company that is worth more than themselves. The situation is high risk - high reward.
GameStop has been a meme stock legend for a long time, and now it’s trying to reinvent itself. The plan is to use its stores as logistics and pickup points, but also as marketplace support. The goal is to create a new Amazon competitor.
This is one of the STRANGEST business moves in the gaming and tech world. If it succeeds, it could completely change e-commerce and the gaming industry together. But if it fails, it could seriously damage GameStop financially.
GameStop is trying to buy eBay for $55B, with a plan to create an Amazon competitor, but the whole deal is still not certain.
Either this is a 200 IQ move… or it’s going to be complete chaos.
