Players want the beloved Merchant back in Resident Evil Requiem! Someone even made a mod!

That’s right! Players want their beloved Merchant back in Resident Evil Requiem so much that someone even created a mod that brings our good old Merchant into the game.

In Resident Evil Requiem, there is no Merchant guy like in Resident Evil 4.
That’s why a fan made a mod that replaces supply boxes and adds the Merchant into the game.
This mod is already available online, and many people are downloading it for their Resident Evil Requiem campaign.
Players claim they felt empty without him, and this mod fixes that.

This is a situation where fans started fixing the game themselves.
Because the Merchant is an OG icon from Resident Evil 4 and one of the most recognizable NPCs in the entire Resident Evil series.
When he’s not there, the game loses part of its identity. And that’s why the community basically said, "Fine, we’ll do it ourselves."

This new Resident Evil Requiem is going in a more serious direction, with a more realistic tone.
While the old Resident Evil 4 had quirky elements like the Merchant, humor, etc...
Which means Capcom is going one way, while fans want the old vibe back.

This shows how important the Merchant is to the identity of the series, and also how the modding scene keeps games alive.
And most importantly, the community is clearly showing what they want from Capcom developers.

Resident Evil Requiem unfortunately doesn’t have the Merchant, and fans want him back so much that they made a mod to bring him into the game.

Realistically, if Capcom won’t do it, we will.

And the way things are going... with all the backlash, maybe in the next Resident Evil Requiem, Capcom will add him as a character in the main story! XD
