Players have started massively canceling their PS Plus subscriptions because PlayStation is ending games on physical discs. But even despite that... ANALYSTS DO NOT EXPECT ANY CHANGES!

Sony's recent decision to stop selling new PlayStation games on physical discs starting in 2028 has, understandably, sparked a wave of dissatisfaction among gamers. As a form of protest, players have recently started canceling their PlayStation Plus subscriptions, sharing screenshots on social media and across the internet, while also encouraging other people to do the same in order to pressure the company into not ending games on physical discs.

Across the internet, forums, and social media, numerous calls have appeared urging players to "vote with their wallets." Many have started canceling their PlayStation Plus subscriptions because they believe it is the best way to show their dissatisfaction with Sony's decision to fully transition to digital distribution by ending games on physical discs.

Some users even claim that Sony offers them discounts after they cancel in an attempt to bring them back and keep them as subscribers.

Fan opinions are very divided. Some support the boycott and believe it is the only way for Sony to hear what its community thinks. Others believe that canceling a PlayStation Plus subscription will not have any significant effect on the company.

The dissatisfaction over the end of physical releases is not slowing down, and part of the PlayStation community has decided to protest by canceling their PS Plus subscriptions.

However, despite the growing number of players joining the boycott, analysts believe it is very unlikely that Sony will abandon its plan to release new PlayStation games exclusively in digital format starting in 2028.
