This fall has definitely become absolutely unreal for gamers around the world. Because it is PACKED WITH GAMES THAT ARE RELEASING!

Many players have started to realize that fall 2026 is FULL OF GAMES! Literally every week huge AAA titles, RPGs, action games, and long-awaited sequels are releasing. The problem this time, for a change, isn't a lack of games, but rather that nobody has enough time or money to play everything that's coming out.

The craziest thing here isn't even the number of games, but how many of them look like potential GOTY candidates. Within the span of just a few months, titles such as major new RPGs, action games, and sequels to franchises that fans have been waiting years for are all releasing. The situation is so overcrowded that there is a real chance some very good games will simply be forgotten because they are launching at the same time as even bigger hits.

Games that are going to be released:

  • August 27: Star Wars Zero Company

  • September 3: The Blood of Dawnwalker

  • September 17: Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4

  • September 24: Control Resonant

  • September 24: Silent Hill: Townfall

  • September 24: Valor Mortis

  • September 25: Onimusha: Way of the Sword

  • September 30: Dynasty Warriors 3 Remastered

  • October 1: Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve

  • October 6: Star Wars: Galactic Racer

  • October 13: Planet Zoo 2

  • October 15: Castlevania: Belmont's Curse

The internet is currently going through two phases; "THIS IS THE BEST YEAR FOR GAMING EVER!" but also "How am I supposed to play all of this while having school or a job?" Memes are already spreading online about backlogs growing faster than people can actually finish games. Some are joking that they'll have to pick only two or three games and ignore the rest until next year.

After years of complaining that there weren't enough major releases, we now have the opposite problem; fall 2026 is one of the most overcrowded periods in modern gaming history. The good news is that we'll have plenty to play, but the bad news is that wallets and backlog lists are about to take critical damage.
