Epic is finally rebuilding its launcher, will be 5x faster

Epic Games has finally started fixing its launcher, and this new version will, believe it or not, launch up to 5 times faster.

After years and years of complaints, memes, and comparisons to Steam; Epic Games has finally admitted what players have been saying for years. And that is that the Epic Games Launcher has some very, very serious problems. WELL, THAT'S ALL COMING TO AN END, because Epic Games has now started working on a complete reconstruction of the launcher that should make it significantly faster and much more pleasant to use.

During presentations at Unreal Fest, Epic Games revealed its plans for the next 12 months, and the main star of the whole story is actually a completely new version of the Epic Games Launcher. According to information the company shared with fans, Epic Games Launcher V2 will have an average startup speed around five times faster compared to the current version. On top of that, Epic Games is also rebuilding the store and launcher architecture practically from the ground up.

What's even more interesting is that Epic Games openly admitted that the current launcher creates huge problems for users.

"Every player we have experiences challenges with the current launcher, it's time for a change." said Epic Games.

The internet has mostly reacted to all of this with a mix of shock and relief. Many players believe that the biggest problem with the Epic Games Store has always been the launcher itself, not the store. For years, you could find discussions all over the internet where users described the launcher as slow, clunky, and far behind competitors such as Steam.
