Dying Light: The Beast has sadly been canceled for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, because Techland decided to drop the last-gen versions.

Techland has officially confirmed that Dying Light: The Beast has been canceled and will no longer be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. The studio stated that the reason is that, after further development of the game, they decided to abandon the last-gen versions in order to focus exclusively on modern hardware such as the PlayStation 5.

In their statement, Techland says that this decision was made after the team accepted the technical realities of development. In other words, the developers believe that creating versions for PS4 and Xbox One would require too many compromises to the game's overall quality.

Because of this, Dying Light: The Beast will remain available only on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, while the previous-generation versions are no longer planned.

Most players are not too surprised by this decision. Many actually think it was expected that Techland would eventually abandon the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions. Meanwhile, some owners of older consoles are disappointed because they had been waiting for confirmation of the game's release for years.

On social media, there are also those who believe that focusing on the current generation is the best decision, as it will allow for better graphics, larger maps, and more stable performance.

Dying Light: The Beast has officially been canceled for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Techland says the decision was made because of the technical limitations of older consoles, meaning the game will now remain exclusive to PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
