Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 has officially been announced, and they also showed the first trailer. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is coming to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
They also revealed the release date, it will be around 2027.
This is not just another sequel, not just Xenoverse 2 + more characters. Instead, the game introduces a TOTALY NEW ERA compared to everything before, called “Age 1000”.
That means the story takes place 1000 years in the future, with a new story and characters, not just a Goku and Vegeta loop.
Plus, old characters are returning.
The designer of the new characters is Akira Toriyama.
Yes, that’s right! Our legend Akira Toriyama designed these new characters.
These are basically some of his last designs he worked on, so it gives the game a legit canon vibe.
From what is shown and said, the gameplay will be in an RPG + combat style, just like in Xenoverse. There will be custom characters, probably something like Time Patroller again, team gameplay in the form of squads, and also an open-ish hub.
So it’s not a classic fighting game like FighterZ, but more like story and grind plus online with character building.
Realistically, Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 came out back in 2016 and is still getting DLCs after 9 years.
Which means Xenoverse 3 will most likely be a long-term live-service with updates for years.
In the trailer, you can see a new protagonist, fights against robots, and a transformation into Super Saiyan. The setting is futuristic.
All of this feels like a mix of Dragon Ball, sci-fi, and an MMO. And as fans also say, it even feels similar to Cyberpunk.
This can go in two directions, either improved combat and better online with more freedom, which would make it the best DB RPG so far, or it will be the same formula as Xenoverse 2 with grind and reused content.
This is no longer just a small project, but an attempt to create a new generation of Dragon Ball RPGs.
And it already feels like it could be the main Dragon Ball game for the next 5–10 years.
