Dragon Ball Super is returning to television, and the new version of the anime, Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, finally has a premiere date. The series will begin airing in Japan on October 11, 2026, with a brand-new “Super Surge” trailer released alongside the announcement.
Although Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is based on the familiar story from the early episodes of the series, this will not simply be a remaster of existing material.
The official description confirms that it is an ENHANCED edition, featuring new scenes, changes to existing sequences, re-rendered footage, upgraded sound, and a reconstructed version of the story.
Goku and Beerus take center stage again
The new trailer once again puts Goku and Beerus at the center of the action, while also revealing the return of Frieza and new threats closing in on Earth.
Official material suggests that this expanded version of the story will introduce additional elements and events, giving even fans who are already familiar with the original storyline a reason to revisit this part of the Dragon Ball saga.
The Super Surge trailer opens with a Kamehameha before shifting between Goku and Beerus as a new crisis begins to threaten Earth. Alongside Frieza, several new enemies can also be seen, suggesting that Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will expand beyond a simple visual overhaul of the original story.
New opening and ending themes revealed
Details about the new series' music have also been revealed.
The opening theme, “ONOGAMI,” is performed by MEGATERA・ZERO, while VK Blanka performs the ending theme, “Kan Peki No Peki.”
Parts of both songs can be heard in the newly released Super Surge trailer.
Fans attending New York Comic Con 2026 will have the opportunity to watch the complete first episode before its Japanese television premiere.
The Dragon Ball Super: Beerus SPECIAL PANEL will take place on October 8 at the Empire Stage inside New York City's Javits Center, where the first episode will receive its world-premiere advance screening.
The panel will feature Jason Douglas, the English voice actor for Beerus, and Ian Sinclair, the English voice of Whis. Monica Rial, the English voice of Bulma, will host the event.
Dragon Ball Super: Beerus begins airing in Japan on October 11, 2026.
International broadcast and streaming details have not yet been fully specified in the currently available announcement.
