Devil May Cry on Netflix is reportedly already getting a third season! And this is happening even before the second season of the adaptation releases, they’re moving fast!

According to new information that came out, Devil May Cry has reportedly already received the green light for a third season on Netflix! What’s shocking is that this is happening even before the release of the second season of the anime adaptation. It’s important to say that Netflix still hasn’t officially confirmed this information, but a lot of sources claim that production for the third season is already being planned. It looks like Netflix has huge confidence in the future of the Devil May Cry series.

The series itself became a huge hit for Netflix. The first season of the anime adaptation attracted millions of viewers after release; the series received very positive reactions from both critics and audiences. The action, soundtrack, and animation style were especially praised.
Netflix obviously sees Devil May Cry as a long-term franchise that will continue.

As for the second season, it still hasn’t released yet but we already know its release date.
The second season arrives on May 12th, 2026. The focus will reportedly be on a bigger conflict between Dante and Vergil. Adi Shankar, who is the showrunner for Devil May Cry, said that he plans multiple seasons with different styles and tones in them. It looks like the creators already have a long-term plan for the entire Devil May Cry anime story.

The style of the series became its biggest strength! The anime uses a heavy metal and nu metal aesthetic heavily inspired by the PS2 era of gaming. The soundtrack featuring bands like Evanescence and Limp Bizkit became a huge part of the identity of this series. Also, many fans believe the anime successfully captures the cool factor that the original games have.
Netflix seems to be trying to create a new major anime franchise similar to Castlevania.

However, fans are divided. Part of the community is excited that the series is potentially getting more seasons, but some fans think Netflix is pushing sequels way too fast before the second season even comes out.
Most discussions revolve around whether the adaptation respects the original games from Capcom enough.
Like with most gaming adaptations, the fandom is still very divided.

Devil May Cry has reportedly already been renewed for a third season, and Netflix obviously sees the series as a huge long-term project, but official confirmation for this information still hasn’t arrived.

If the second season repeats the success of the first season, Devil May Cry could become one of the biggest gaming anime adaptations on Netflix!
