Dead by Daylight movie has finally made its first big step forward; AND IT HAS FOUND ITS DIRECTOR!
After years and years of development for the Dead by Daylight movie, it has finally made its first major step forward. During the 10th anniversary celebration of the game, it was revealed that Icelandic director Thordur Palsson will lead the film adaptation of this popular horror hit created by Behaviour Interactive. On top of that, it was also confirmed that the script for the movie has been completed. Meanwhile, filming is currently planned to begin in 2027.
Thordur Palsson stated that he wants to bring the feeling of constant paranoia that Dead by Daylight is known for. His goal, as he says, is for viewers to feel like something is constantly right behind them, but they don't know what it is, just like players feel while running through the fog from a killer in the game.
The fact that a director has finally been found is especially important for the entire movie because the project had been without one for a very long time. Earlier this year, Blumhouse and Atomic Monster brought in writers David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick and Alexandre Aja, but at the time it was still unknown who would actually direct the film.
Fans have mostly reacted very positively to this because the project is finally showing concrete progress. After so many years of waiting and relatively little information from the team, the confirmation of a director and a completed script means a lot to many people because it feels like the movie is genuinely moving toward becoming a reality.
The Dead by Daylight movie is no longer just an idea on paper; THE SCRIPT IS FINISHED, THE DIRECTOR HAS BEEN FOUND, AND FILMING IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN IN 2027!
If everything goes according to plan, horror fans may soon get to see The Fog arrive on the big screen as well.
