On March 28, 2026, Genshin Impact posted a new loading screen on its official Instagram page, which will most likely replace the old one.

We all know that familiar loading screen when we first enter Genshin, "START GAME" in the middle of the screen... And behind it, a path that builds itself until we press "START GAME" and the door appears at the end of the road. What no one ever expected is that this same loading screen would be changed.

However… It’s not as bad as it sounds, because they are only changing the design, not the essence. In their new Instagram reel, the Genshin Impact developers revealed what the new loading screen will look like. Basically, everything is the same as before, only the textures have been changed. The same music, the same buildings, the same style, but the textures are now a bit more refined and smoother. The path that builds over time until we click "START GAME" is now much more detailed, but also smoother. "Path of the Forgotten World," wrote the Genshin Impact account on Instagram alongside the video.

And even though we are not completely sure whether they are actually changing it or not, it is very safe to assume they will, considering they also posted another video showing a before and after (the old and new loading screen).

But now the question arises: why are they changing it?
It hasn’t been confirmed, but many fans speculate that a part of Celestia will be added in the new version "Luna VI."

However, it was confirmed during the Genshin Impact Special Program Live, where they announced the new version, that a new part of the map called "The Temple of Space" will be added. This is a hidden area that belongs to the Heavenly Principles, aka Asmoday. This "The Temple of Space" is very likely a part of Celestia, or at least somehow connected to it. In images of this new area, we can see pillars that strongly resemble the ones from Genshin’s loading screen.

But the new map area doesn’t necessarily have to be the reason why they are changing the loading screen. Maybe the old one has simply become outdated and served its purpose, so they want to create something better and more visually appealing. To change things up a bit. The only thing left for us to do is wait and see.
