Capcom rejects AI art: No AI assets, but AI tools stay
"Capcom has shared its stance on the use of AI in game development, making it clear that AI-generated assets will not be included in its games."
The company stated that while it does not plan to implement AI-generated content directly into its titles, it will continue to use AI as a tool to improve productivity and efficiency across areas such as graphics, programming, sound design, and overall development workflows. The goal is to speed up development and make the process more streamlined.

However, Capcom did not clearly define where it draws the line. While the company says it will avoid AI-generated assets, it also confirmed the use of AI in areas like visuals and audio, making the distinction between a “tool” and an “asset” somewhat unclear.
It is also worth noting that Capcom has already experimented with AI in the past, using it for concept art ideas and design references. This suggests that AI will continue to play a role in development, just not in the final in-game content.
With ongoing backlash from players regarding the use of AI in gaming, particularly around AI-generated art, Capcom appears to be trying to reassure fans. The company is positioning its approach as a balance between technology and creativity, rather than a replacement for human work.
In short, Capcom does not want AI in the final version of its games, but will continue using it behind the scenes as a development tool.
