Sony Studio recently officially announced an R-rated animated film based on the beloved game Bloodborne! Since it’s based on Bloodborne and is R-rated, we already know it will be brutal with lots of blood. So very faithful to the game.

The announcement happened at CinemaCon where they said they want this film to be "very faithful to the dark and gory vibe of the game"

THE PRODUCER OF THIS FILM, WHICH NO ONE EXPECTED; is Jacksepticeye.
Literally a YouTuber who is an OG fan of this game is now working on that same film. This is really nice for him because we all know how Bloodborne is his favorite game ever. Jacksepticeye said that he wants to make the best possible adaptation ever.

Besides him, the project is backed by Sony Pictures as well as PlayStation Productions. And of course it will be in animated format. That is very important considering we know how live-action usually turns out mega cringe, and with animation they can properly do Lovecraft horror.

Bloodborne is already known for its brutal atmosphere and cosmic horror vibe, something like a "you slowly go insane while playing" vibe. And that R-rating means the wider audience won’t be spared either.

However, for now there is no release date nor plot details, and we also don’t know the animation style. This is still in an early phase.

With this, Sony is pushing its games into movies and series, something like a Marvel-style approach but with games. And Bloodborne is perfect for that considering its strong identity and brutality.

If they do this right, it could be an Arcane-level hit.
But if they flop, it will just be another forgotten game movie like many before it...
