Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, the upcoming remake of Ubisoft’s acclaimed 2013 pirate adventure, is set to bring major additions for longtime fans of the franchise when it launches later this summer.
As the release date approaches, new details have surfaced confirming that Ubisoft has significantly reworked the project by adding entirely new story missions centered around Edward Kenway. These missions were not part of the original game, meaning players can expect an expanded experience with fresh narrative content and additional adventures to uncover.
The original Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag delivered a memorable story campaign that took roughly 20 hours to complete. With the inclusion of new narrative elements, the development team aims to further explore Edward’s journey while also extending the overall gameplay experience with more meaningful content for players to dive into.
New story content focuses on character depth rather than padding
Concerns surrounding pacing and the possibility of the remake artificially extending the story were recently addressed by actor Matt Ryan, who once again returns as the voice and performance actor for Edward Kenway.
Speaking with Game Informer, Ryan praised the newly added material, stating that the additional scenes and missions immediately stood out to him thanks to the quality of the writing. According to him, the new content is not simply designed to increase playtime, but instead adds genuine emotional depth to both the characters and the overall narrative.
His comments suggest that Ubisoft’s goal with Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is to deliver a fresh and engaging experience that will appeal not only to newcomers, but also to longtime fans already familiar with every detail of the original game.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced launches on July 9 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
