“The latest report suggests that one of several projects currently underway at Naughty Dog is, in fact, a brand-new Uncharted game featuring Nathan Drake!”

What we knew earlier this week was that Naughty Dog was juggling three projects: two tied to new installments in The Last of Us franchise, and a third being the new sci-fi adventure Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. However, a new report confirms that wasn't entirely accurate—or rather, not the whole story.

Outlet MP1st has reported that a fourth project is in the works at the studio, involving a completely new Uncharted title—meaning this is neither a remake nor a remaster of any kind. The report also notes that the game will feature Nathan Drake, though his exact capacity remains unclear—whether he will appear as a supporting character or reprise his role as the lead protagonist.

Reportedly attached to the project is Shaun Escayag, who previously led Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, the standalone expansion for Uncharted 4. As for Escayag, he shared photos on his Instagram earlier this year of an antique cannon in Trinidad, hinting that it was part of his latest research.

Assuming this holds true, we could see a new Uncharted entry arrive following Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, ending a decade-long wait. Perhaps this time around, Drake’s daughter, Cassie, could take center stage, given that she shares her father's adventurous interests.

Either way, the earliest we could realistically expect to see it launch is 2029 or 2030, though for now, that remains purely speculative.
