1047 Games, the same studio behind Splitgate, has revealed that they are making a new game. But this game looks very similar to the old Splitgate.

The studio behind Splitgate is working on a new FPS project. Inspirations like Titanfall and Call of Duty: Black Ops III are being mentioned.
The first teasers and information suggest that this game could once again have a fast-paced and sci-fi movement shooter vibe.
It feels like Splitgate again, but with a more futuristic mobility shooter style.

For now, what we know about the project is that 1047 Games is trying to become a multi-game studio, and the project is still a mystery. There is no full gameplay reveal, no name, not even a release date yet. But the studio is already looking for playtesters for this new game. The community immediately noticed that the game looks almost identical to Splitgate.

The focus seems to be on movement shooter gameplay, arena FPS vibes, wallrunning and mobility energy, and competitive sci-fi combat. It feels like a mix of Titanfall momentum, Black Ops 3 movement, and a modern arena shooter identity. It sounds like they are trying to escape the “Portal Halo clone” label.

Splitgate 2 had a very turbulent development. The original Splitgate exploded in popularity, and then the studio stopped further development to make a bigger and better version. However, Splitgate 2 received mixed reactions; some people like the new classes and movement, while others think it lost the original identity the first game had.
Later, they even rebooted the game as Splitgate: Arena Reloaded.
It is obvious that the studio is still searching for the right formula.

The arena FPS genre has been almost dead for years, and 1047 Games is trying to create a modern movement shooter without fully copying the COD and Apex formula.

If they succeed in what they are trying to do, they could create a cult classic FPS.
But if they fail, people will once again say this is just another Splitgate reboot.

The idea sounds interesting indeed, Titanfall and BO3 inspirations are peak material. The only problem is that fans already feel deja vu before the game has even released. The studio REALLY needs to show something new.

If the movement ends up being brutal and the gameplay feels smooth, the game could build a very strong fanbase.
