Samsung Electronics has officially unveiled the Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Z Fold4, the fourth generation of its foldable smartphones. The new devices deliver enhanced performance, customizable experiences, and advanced camera technology powered by Samsung’s latest innovations in flexible design.
Both foldables build on Samsung’s legacy of transforming mobile technology and pushing the boundaries of form and function. “Samsung’s foldable phones embody our philosophy of openness and innovation, offering users a truly personal mobile experience,” said Dr. TM Roh, President and Head of Samsung’s Mobile Experience Division. “What began as an experimental concept has now become a global success story, used by millions around the world.”
The company emphasized that every element of the Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Z Fold4 has been refined to support a more personalized and durable user experience. These advancements mark another step forward in Samsung’s ongoing mission to establish foldables as a mainstream smartphone category.
The Galaxy Z Flip4 evolves Samsung’s iconic clamshell design with upgraded camera performance, stronger battery life, and extended customization options. Users can capture hands-free photos and videos at multiple angles using FlexCam, a feature optimized through Samsung’s collaboration with Meta for apps like Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook. The main camera now includes a 65% brighter sensor powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 platform, offering sharper, more stable shots in both day and night conditions.
Samsung also focused on making the Z Flip4 more practical for quick interactions. Users can answer calls, reply to messages, and access SmartThings widgets directly from the outer display. The 3,700mAh battery supports super-fast charging, reaching 50% power in about 30 minutes. With a slimmer hinge, polished edges, frosted glass finish, and glossy aluminum frame, the Z Flip4 offers Samsung’s most refined design yet, further enhanced through deep personalization via Galaxy Themes and customizable cover displays.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold4 represents Samsung’s most powerful foldable to date. It integrates Android 12L, a version optimized by Google for large and foldable screens. A redesigned taskbar mirrors the feel of a PC environment, making multitasking smoother with drag-and-drop gestures for launching and adjusting split-screen apps. Collaborations with Google and Microsoft bring new productivity tools, including improved support for dual-screen operations in apps like Chrome, Gmail, and Microsoft Office.
For content creators and professionals, the Z Fold4 combines immersive visuals with an upgraded 50MP main camera and a 30x Space Zoom telephoto lens. The 7.6-inch main display features adaptive 120Hz refresh rate, improved brightness, and a less visible under-display camera. The device supports the S Pen, enabling precise note-taking and drawing. Powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor and 5G connectivity, the Z Fold4 is optimized for gaming, multitasking, and high-end performance.
Both foldables emphasize durability with Armour Aluminum frames, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+, and IPX8 water resistance. Samsung also expanded its commitment to sustainability, using recycled plastics and 100% recycled paper packaging as part of its “Galaxy for the Planet” initiative.
Joining the new smartphones is the Galaxy Buds2 Pro, Samsung’s premium wireless earbuds featuring Hi-Fi 24-bit audio, improved active noise cancellation, and a smaller, ergonomic design. The earbuds support seamless device switching and can be tracked via SmartThings Find.
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Galaxy Z Flip4 is priced at 2,199 KM, while the Galaxy Z Fold4 retails for 3,599 KM. The Galaxy Buds2 Pro are available for 469 KM, with promotional offers including free wireless chargers and screen insurance for pre-order customers.
The Galaxy Z Flip4 and Galaxy Z Fold4 became available for pre-order on August 10, 2022, with general availability starting August 26 in selected markets.
