Samsung Electronics has officially introduced its 2022 lineup of Odyssey gaming monitors worldwide, headlined by the Odyssey Neo G8 (G85NB) — the world’s first 4K gaming monitor with a 240Hz refresh rate. The 32-inch display combines cutting-edge Quantum Mini LED technology with ultra-fast performance, reaffirming Samsung’s leadership in the premium gaming monitor segment.
“The Odyssey Neo G8 represents a major leap forward in 4K gaming technology, delivering an unmatched level of speed, precision, and immersion,” said Hyesung Ha, Executive Vice President of Samsung’s Visual Display Business, in a statement announcing the launch.
The Odyssey Neo G8 is the first monitor globally to pair a 4K (3840x2160) curved 1000R VA Quantum Matrix panel with a 240Hz refresh rate and a 1ms (GtG) response time. Supporting up to 95% of the DCI-P3 color space, it delivers remarkable visual fidelity—ideal for competitive gamers and content creators alike. The display design draws inspiration from Samsung’s flagship Neo G9, combining minimalist aesthetics with functional gaming-focused enhancements.
Performance is further elevated by AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, ensuring smooth gameplay at high frame rates, while Quantum HDR 2000 technology pushes brightness levels up to 2000 nits with a 1,000,000:1 static contrast ratio. This advanced lighting control allows darker and brighter areas to appear with incredible detail and depth, cementing the Odyssey Neo G8’s position as one of the most visually impressive monitors on the market.
Additional features such as CoreSync rear lighting—which dynamically mirrors on-screen colors in real time—enhance immersion by visually extending the gaming environment beyond the display. The new Matte Display coating reduces reflections and glare, allowing players to remain focused during intense sessions.
Designed for both comfort and performance, the Odyssey Neo G8 includes a height-adjustable stand (HAS) with tilt, swivel, and rotation support, all compliant with VESA standards for ergonomic flexibility. This focus on workplace comfort allows the monitor to perform equally well in competitive gaming or productivity setups.
The monitor’s innovation has already earned recognition, winning Best Innovation in Gaming and receiving an Honoree Award for technical excellence.
Samsung also unveiled the Odyssey Neo G7 (G75NB), a 32-inch 4K 165Hz curved display built on the same Quantum Mini LED and Quantum HDR 2000 foundations. It delivers many of the same high-end capabilities as the Neo G8, including AMD FreeSync Premium Pro support and CoreSync lighting, bringing lifelike visual clarity to a broader range of gamers.
Both the Odyssey Neo G8 (G85NB) and Odyssey Neo G7 (G75NB) are now available globally. In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the monitors retail at 2,929 KM and 2,539 KM respectively. More information is available at Samsung’s official website.
