"Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 represents the pinnacle of years of perfecting foldable screen technology, bringing an almost perfect balance between practicality, performance, and futuristic design."

After the world has already become well acquainted with the idea of a “phone that becomes a tablet,” with each new generation Samsung has raised the bar of quality and detail, and 2025 greeted us with a device that can rightfully be called the “smartest foldable so far.” This premium phone brings numerous praised upgrades, but also some interesting innovations that, whether you are a tech enthusiast or a productive professional, will enter daily use and facilitate multitasking.

Even upon the first hold in the hand, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 leaves an impressive impression of lightness and thinness. With a thickness of only 4.2 mm when unfolded – which is almost 10% thinner than its predecessor – and a weight of 215 grams, this phone is significantly more compact than its predecessors, yet remains firm and resistant thanks to a new generation of aluminum with a reinforced frame and the latest Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on the screen and an additional protective layer of Victus 2 on the back. This combination provides excellent resistance to scratches and drops, and the IPX8 certificate increases device safety regarding water resistance – a rarity among foldable phones.

The main screen is the real star of this generation: an 8.0-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel aligned with a resolution of 2184 x 1968 pixels, a refresh rate up to 120Hz, and a maximum brightness of 2600 nits. This screen provides an outstanding visual experience, rich colors, top clarity, and fluid display, which is particularly evident when watching movies, playing the most modern games, or using productivity apps on the large canvas. Besides the screen surface itself, its flexible OLED material enables a seamless crease that is almost unnoticeable in practice, solving one of the most important problems of earlier models – the feeling of an unnatural crease when touched.

The combination of design and ergonomics is further highlighted in the cover screen, which has now been increased to 6.5 inches, with a resolution of 2520 x 1080 pixels and also a 120Hz refresh rate. The pixels are so close, and the edges so thin, that most users can do almost all their work without even unfolding the device, with a very comfortable 21:9 format. Samsung has further optimized the software so that even the most popular applications work in that format, and new multitasking options allow you to use up to three windows at the same time, which is a big advantage over previous versions.

The internal hardware is impressive: Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Elite (a version specially customized for the Galaxy series) brings top performance with minimal heating thanks to advanced thermal solutions and optimizations. Memory options vary from 12 to 16GB of RAM with the fast LPDDR5X standard, enabling top multitasking, along with internal storage options up to 1TB UFS 4.0. Such a configuration guarantees that every task – whether it's video editing, graphic design, or top-level gaming demands – goes smoothly and without hesitation.

Samsung focused particularly on the camera with the help of its new 200MP ISOCELL HP3 wide-angle sensor, which was first introduced on this model. The camera brings exceptional resolution and smooth operation, with implemented multi-directional autofocus, optical stabilization, and exceptional performance in low light conditions thanks to pixel binning technology. The camera is accompanied by a 12MP ultra-wide lens and a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, which in practice means top flexibility for every moment, from landscapes to portraits and macro details. The front camera is 10MP, with support for 4K video recording at 60fps, while the internal under-display camera has been improved, but Samsung opted for a more classic approach to raise the quality of selfies and video calls.

The software aspect of the device is followed by Android 16 with the Samsung One UI 8 interface, which brings a series of improvements tailored to foldable screens. AI assistants help maximize the use of screen space through smart multitasking, flexible window adjustment, and automated gestures. An intelligent system for app prediction and overlay controls enables better productivity, while Samsung Dex support continues to allow the unfolded device to function almost like a full-fledged desktop computer when connected to external monitors.

The 4,400mAh battery is not drastically larger in numbers than its predecessor, but thanks to more efficient optimization and new hardware solutions, it lasts longer. In real life, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 can offer up to 13 hours of continuous video playback and a perfect balance between performance and sustainability throughout the day. Charging is 25W via cable and 15W wireless, which is not record-breakingly fast, but it is enough speed for most users, with the added convenience of reverse charging for accessories like headphones or watches.

With all this, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 raises the bar in the foldable phone segment with its attention to detail in manufacturing, outstanding performance, and positioning as a device that is not just a geek toy, but a real work tool for productive users and multitaskers. At the same time, it has the ability to be an elegant status symbol with an exceptional visual impression.

If you are looking for a device that combines the power of a tablet and the practicality of a phone, while also being able to count on long-term software updates and top-tier technology, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is currently the best choice on the market.
