About

In the world of kung-fu, no man was considered more handsome than Jiang Feng. Even Yaoyue, the princess of the Yihua palace, could not resist his charms. But Jiang Feng loved another woman - a simple servant named Hua Yuenu. When Hua Yuenu gave birth to twins, it became impossible to hide the love any longer. The princess Yaoyue, tormented by jealousy, and her sister Lingxing threatened to take away the babies. In a desperate move, Jiang Feng attacked the princess, but her magical power reflected the attack to Hua Yuenu, mortally wounding her. Unable to live any longer, Jiang Feng killed himself, embracing the dead body of his beloved woman. But Yaoyue's hatred was not soothed by the death of the young lovers, and the two princesses conceived a plan. From now on, the twins will be separated. One of them will be brought up in the Yihua palace and become a faithful servant of the princesses. The other will be given to the hostile demon people. When the twins grow up, they will become enemies...

Everything happened just as the princesses planned - at least for the time being. The brothers grew up separately. Jiang Xiaoyu studied martial arts in the village of demon people, happy and unconcerned. He was unaware of his true origin, and of the cruel fate that will force him to confront his own brother in a battle...

Xin Juedai Shuangjiao, also known as Twin Heroes, is an adaptation of Gu Long's popular novels. The first game tells the first part of the long story. The game is conceived in the tradition of classic Chinese RPG series Xuanyuan Jian and Xianjian Qixia Zhuan, adding some original ideas. In the beginning of the game, there is a choice of three difficulty levels and three kinds of combat: fully turn-based, active time battle (like in Final Fantasy games), and its fast-paced variant. The battles are viewed from third-person perspective. You can utilize physical attacks or techniques, and also have a special "anger level", which increases as the battle advances. Enemies appear randomly in hostile areas. The game uses pre-rendered backgrounds, and the introduction sequence has full voice overs.
