About

Wolfschanze is a World War II-themed shooter based on the life of Claus Schenk von Stauffenberg, who conspired against Adolf Hitler, attempted to assassinate him and tried to organize the military coup against the Nazi leaders. The name of the game, Wolfschanze, was the codename of Hitler's military headquarters at the Eastern Front.

Players take on the role of Claus and the game starts with the assassination, which fails, and the 20 missions are spent exploring an alternate history in 1994 in occupied Poland and Germany where von Stauffenberg fights against Nazi soldiers while attempting to murder Hitler a second time. As in the real events, he will be helped during the game by people who conspired along.

The game uses classic first-person shooter elements, with different locations, enemies such as soldiers and guard dogs, and a selection of weapons including the Walther P38, MP-40 "Schmeisser", Mauser 98 rifle, MG-42 Machinegun, K43 sniper rifle, Panzerfaust 30, Stielhandgranate 24 and the Flammenwerfer 41-P. Most of the action takes place in closed locations such as castles, cities or bunkers, with a strictly linear path. During certain missions, Claus can drive bikes or tanks, changing the perspective to third-person.

The game uses the in-house developed IC engine. It provides destroyable objects and using Newton physics, players can pick up objects and launch them. Multiplayer is supported with both deathmatch and cooperative maps.
