The Winning Post series introduces 3D rendered graphics with ambient sound effects, with the game taking place in Japan. Real racehorses, both local and foreign are abundant with events held in the JRA race program. New to the series is the player's ability to have a spouse and children and get involved in the horse management business and increase its effectiveness. Establishing a bond between a character and a horse bolster the horse's racing ability. With new breeding capabilities, the player can establish their pedigree of horses witin specially customized ranches, which have their own facilities. Outside the main game, the player can partake in online competitions for getting a record.
