About

Wings over Vietnam is the second release in the series by Third Wire Productions. You will find yourself in the jets of the period engaged in a life or death battle against the heavy and well organized SAM and air defense network. Race high in the skies to drop your bomb load and get out, another notch in your Hundred Mission mark. Take damage over the North and watch out for the MiGs waiting to pick off the wounded.

Participate in historical missions and campaigns from the Rolling Thunder campaign of 1964-68 and the hard-hitting Linebacker I and II campaigns of 1972. This is the first install of the series to have carriers built into campaigns. Launch from the deck of the Kitty Hawk or Essex class carriers at "Yankee Stations" to go "Downtown" over Hanoi and Haiphong area. Watch as the black clouds of flak erupt ahead of you as the radio crackles of SAM LAUNCH!!! Or find yourself over the same area on Iron Hand missions with your duty to destroy the AAA and SAM before they destroy the following raids.

As with all Third Wire Productions games, the after market community additions is huge. Find downloads for more terrain addons, aircraft such as the F-111 Aardvark and of course the ability to fly for the VPAF and defend your homeland against the aggression of the intruder.

Player flyable aircraft for the USAF will be the F-100 Super Sabre, the mighty F-105 Thunderchief and the F-4 Phantom II. For the USN and USMC find yourself in the F-8 Crusader, A-4 Skyhawk, A-6 Intruder, F-4 Phantom II and A-7 Corsair II.
