Unexpected Journey

Journalist Lina Woodberry is sent to a cruise by her newspaper boss, to interview a series of celebrities on board. After embarking on the ship, she is caught on a series of unpredictable events, and ends up on one of the most remote places of the planet, where she must survive and make the journey back to civilization.

Unexpected Journey is a hidden object game, where most of the time the objective is to find and click on all the items listed at the top of the screen, on locations filled with assorted objects scattered throughout the scenery. Some of the items are hidden from view, and can only be collected after opening a container of some sort, like drawers and boxes that appear overlaid on the screen after being selected. A few of the objects are stored inside the inventory, a film strip that slides downwards from the top-right corner, from where they can be dragged and dropped on certain places to perform an action or complete a task. When the hint energy meter is fully charged, list entries can be clicked to show their position. The meter recharges with time, or by collecting and using the extra batteries found laying around. In some locations, the screen is vertically split in the middle in two similar images, and the player has to click on the differences.
