About

Ultimate Mah-Jongg is a single player tile matching game.

At least three versions of a game of this name have been sold by Nodtronics, the earliest had 'over ninety-nine' tile layouts, this was replaced by a game with three hundred tile layouts and this was replaced with a game that has over one thousand layouts.

The later game, with over one thousand tile layouts, can be played in two modes:* Ultimate Mah-Jongg which allows the player to play of the 1001 tile layouts, using any of seven tile images, in either 2D or 3D. This is the mode where the player has access to the editors that create new tile layouts and tile sets. This game mode plays in a window only.

Each layout has an associated high score table. In addition to this the are statistics which show how many times the game has been played and the all time high score for the tile layout as it is posted on the internet. On completion of any game the player can optionally upload their score to the website which, as at March 2015, was still active.

  • Ultimate Mah-Jongg: Road To Enlightenment which has two modes of play, Adventure Mode and Freeplay Mode.
In Adventure Mode the player plays six consecutive games, each one harder than the one before. Each game is timed and every pair of tiles the player matches earns them additional time, hints and other bonuses. Each game completed scores points and unlocks additional tile layouts for the Freeplay mode. This mode has a high score table and can be played either in a window or full screen. Additionally there are in-game secrets to be discovered.

The Freeplay mode starts with a subset of tile layouts and background pictures, more of each become available as the player unlocks them in Adventure mode.
