UFO Robo Dangar

Based on the anime series "Danguard Ace" and "UFO Robo Grendizer", this vertical scrolling shoot 'em up game has the player controls a flying robot mech made up of three fighter ships, which fires missiles from its arms. In a long continuous stage, the player shoots and destroys ground and air targets as well as the occasional boss. Sometimes there are wormholes that take the mech to a pocket dimension full of aliens. The jet thrust protects the mech from enemies behind it. The Mech can be separated into the three fighter ships to cover more ground, but is more vulnerable to enemy fire. Capsules provide upgrades for better firepower and speed. There also upgrades that provide one type of mothership for the mech to pilot. Some upgrades allow for alternate weapons and defense mechanisms, which can be toggled a limited only three times. If a life is lost, the player starts with a single fighter ship and will need several upgrades to get back the mech. If all lives are lost its game over.
