About
Turing Complete is a hardware-design/programming game that teaches the player the fundamentals of computer design through a series of puzzles. It starts as the unnamed protagonist is abducted by an alien to see if a human can design a functional computer and thus qualify as sentient.
The game begins by giving the player access to only NAND gates, and tasking them to build simple components out of them. As the player builds the components, they become available for use, and the game tasks the player with building more complex components, culminating with a simple computer that can be programmed. At this point the game gives the player programming puzzles as well.
The game also includes a sandbox mode, with a variety of input/output devices that allow the player to experiment with graphics display, with sound output, with handling the player's keyboard input, or with reading the files off the player's computer.
