About
Tsukuyomi: The Divine Hunter is a rogue-like collectable card game. The player is a Tsukuyomi, someone who fights Jinma (otherworldly beings) using Jinma. Noriko Tomi has stolen Solomon's Ring, which lets him summon vast armies of Jinma. He is at the top of a skyscraper, and the player will need to fight their way up.
The skyscraper is divided into floors, and each floor takes the form of a series of branching paths guarded by Jinma. The player choose which way to travel at forks, guided by a map. Aside from enemies, the player may encounter shops (buy new cards or upgrade cards), rest areas (restore HP or upgrade cards), and encounters. Encounters show the player a situation, and give them a choice between two outcomes. These could be simple (gamble Mana, or gain Mana at the cost of health), or not show the player the results until chosen. At the end of each floor, there is a boss fight.
Fighting takes the form of a card game. The player has a deck of cards. Each card costs an amount of Odo to play, and the player gets 4 Odo per turn. Most cards have attack or defense values. Cards with attack values can be used to attack enemies, moving them to the discard pile. When the enemy attacks the player, cards with defense can block that amount of damage, but the card will end up in the discard pile. When there are no more cards in the draw pile, in the next turn, all cards in the discard pile will return to the draw pile. There are also amulets and relics. Relics are one-time use items that can be rewards for a battle. Amulets remain over the course of an entire run.
By completing runs, the player can unlock extra blessings. These can be simple stat increases or can unlock relics and amulets. While there is a set of basic cards that are always available during runs, the game also has the ability to generate personalized cards, using rare currency. These are randomly generated, and the player can pick one to start the game with.
