Trucks & Trailers

Trucks & Trailers is a driving simulation where the player needs to maneuver a selection of licensed trucks and trailers through different scenarios with realistic control mechanics. After creating a profile one of three difficulty levels can be chosen and then the player has to complete challenges from a task list, starting with basic mechanics to up to 50 challenges involving transport, parking, deliveries, navigating rest stops, driving on roads, and obstacle courses. The difficulty level influences the required accuracy or number of mistakes allowed, as well as restricting the available camera views. For instance, in the highest difficulty level called Pro only interior camera views can be used. Next to selecting a truck, different types of colours can be applied. Performances are recorded, stored and can be watched as a replay. The game also incorporates achievements.

Using the interior camera fully functional dashboards are shown that incorporate gauges representing the state of the truck. Controls offer both manual and automatic assisted shifting. Basic driving includes forward/throttle and backward/brake, steering left and right, and shifting up and down. There are separate controls for starting and stopping the engine and two types of brake: parking and motor. Players also need to use turn indicators, hazard warnings, headlights, a horn, wipers, and optionally cruise control. It is possible to look left and right while driving and for complex maneuvers optional wing mirrors can be triggered to get a better view. Certain tasks also have separate controls for attaching or detaching a trailer. To complete a task successfully the player generally has to avoid damage to the truck of transported goods, park in the designated area and facing the correct way. Driving takes place in closed off environments as well as over large distances with traffic and pedestrians. Outstanding performances are usually related to the completion time.
