About
Two friends, Gagwin and Baggus, along with Gagwin's son, went on a search for the 12 legendary treasures once gathered by the hero Huayin to defeat a demon. After gathering all treasures, they've arrived at an island with a temple which can only be opened by said treasures and which was said to hold great riches. The trio enters the temple and what happens next is yet to be revealed...
Treasure Adventure Game is a platform game developed as a tribute to 8-bit era games. The player controls the boy 10 years after he arrived at the island, when his adoptive grandmother sends him into an adventure: gather the same 12 treasures as his father once did. The game features a huge side scrolling world comprised of several islands, which were once a single continent. The islands can be explored in a non-linear fashion, with new areas being made accessible by the collection of new items. The boy has a hook for a hand, and uses it as a weapon. He can crawl to cross lowered passages, jump and grab onto ledges and hanging vines or chains with his hook. When traveling from one island to another, he uses a boat, which can be latter equipped with a sail and a cannon.
Each treasure is hidden somewhere in the map, and the player must first find maps which will point to the right X and Y coordinates where they can be found. Using a compass, the player can travel precisely to those coordinates. Some other items are also hidden and can be found by the use of maps. Some maps and items are locked into chests, which will require lockpicks to be unlocked. Money can be collected and used to buy new items. The game also features a day and night cycle, with areas only being reachable in certain times of the day (such as a store which only opens from 5 to 16 and night club which only has shows at night).
