The Ultra Mission

The Ultra Mission is a shooting game where, on each of the eight levels, the protagonist must reach civilians to rescue them. Once all civilians on a level are rescued, the level is complete.

The game uses a top-down view, the hero moved with keyboard, his gun and grenades aimed with a mouse. Dangers include guards and turrets that shoot the hero if he is within their sight; there are also hovering spheres that fire rockets at the hero if they see him. The hero's gun can kill soldiers and destroy turrets and spheres, and his grenades can destroy some walls, though the spheres' rockets can destroy more walls.

Should the hero or any of the civilians get killed, or any civilian wander off the edge of the screen, the level must be restarted.
