The Descendant

The Descendant is a narrative-driven adventure game about two janitors in the vein of the Telltale games. After climate change made the planet inhabitable and nations destroyed each other through nuclear bombs, only a few thousand "descendants of humanity" were selected to survive, cryogenically preserved in underground bunkers known as Arks. After the world recovered from the nuclear holocaust, all the Arks reopened except one.

You play in two different timelines, one in the past, with Mia Howard as a janitor trying to take care of the Ark while everything around her is falling apart and the other, in the present, with Donnie who is part of a search team trying to discover what happened with Ark-01 and why it never opened. The side characters are Randolph Jefferson, an ex-Senator of the USA and Silas, a physician-janitor tasked with taking care of the descendants of Ark-01.

It is an episodic adventure series that consists of five installments. Players can purchase the full season, or only the first episode with the other four as a single season pass. The player solves puzzles and learns more about the story and the mysteries hidden inside the Ark.
