About

Teeter Torture is an unreleased prototype arcade space-themed shoot-em-up. As in many games of the period, you control a cannon that moved back and forth along the bottom of the screen, and can shoot upwards. A formation of enemies looms overhead, and individuals occasionally dive at you. Your movement is on-top of a teeter-totter, which tilts to one side if you move to that side of the screen. The ends of the teeter-totter are connected to detonators, so that if there is too much tilt, an explosive is set off, losing one of your lives.

The falling enemies can kill you in two ways. Firstly by hitting you directly. But secondly, each enemy has a hook which latches onto the teeter-totter, adding extra weight. This requires you to spend more time on the other other side of the fulcrum to prevent a detonation. Killing all of the enemies on-screen ends the level. Later levels have transiently appearing squares, which when shot warp you directly to the next level.
