About
Tamori no Picross is a series of Picross puzzle games that aired on the Super Famicom in 1995 through the BS-X (Satellaview) broadcast system. It was presented alongside a weekly radio show hosted by popular Japanese comedian Kazuyoshi Morita, known by his stage name Tamori.
The game originally ran from April 23 to September 2, 1995. It was first introduced under the title Sabachichi Collage: Tamoros Hakase no Picross Kouza, later renamed to Sabachichi Collage: Tamoros Hakase no Sunday Seminar. Leveraging Satellaview’s data transmission capabilities, the game received regular updates throughout its run. It featured two primary modes: Daily Picross, which refreshed daily with puzzles from the past 14 days, and Weekly Homework, updated each Sunday following the radio broadcast.
Unlike later retail entries in the series, Tamori no Picross did not include the "? Start" guessing feature. However, it did offer a unique "Radio" function, allowing players to listen to the St. GIGA radio stream while playing.
After its initial run, the program shifted focus to become a standard talk show, though the game continued to be rebroadcast until March 1996, when the Sunday Seminar series came to an end.
