Take On Helicopters

Take On Helicopters is a helicopter simulation which tells the story of three brothers which inherit the flying business from their father. The player takes the role of Tom who is a pilot, but did not fly in years. Unusually for a simulation, this game has an actual plot development, dialogue and cutscenes. The focus lies on the realistic simulation of civilian helicopters (although there are three combat helicopters available), but with a reduced learning curve (i.e. less buttons to press than in other simulations) and help for newcomers (automatism of certain aspects and tutorials).

During the campaign, the player has to solve varied missions like landings under difficult conditions or formation flights; sometimes under a time limit. During this part, set in the area around Seattle, Tom also manages the business which introduces an economic mechanic. e.g. buying more helicopters or more advanced equipment. Some missions are flashbacks to Joe's time in South Asia. His job was combat fighter, so these missions involve using the combat helicopters and even one on-foot mission.

Besides the campaign, there are other playing modes available: free flight over both areas, challenges (randomly generated missions), time trials and multiplayer (co-op and competitive missions). Also included is an editor to create more content.
