Sword Coast Legends

Sword Coast Legends is a single-player and multiplayer role-playing game set in the Forgotten Realms universe. The story takes place along the Sword Coast, where the player creates and customizes a character who joins the adventuring company known as the Burning Dawn. As the campaign unfolds, the protagonist uncovers dark forces threatening both their companions and the wider region, while contending with mysterious visions and conspiracies tied to the gods themselves. The player’s role is to guide the party through dungeons, cities, and wilderness zones while shaping the fate of their allies and the Sword Coast at large.

Gameplay is built on tactical real-time-with-pause combat inspired by the rules of Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition. The player controls a party of up to four characters, switching between them or issuing commands while combat plays out. Each class, including clerics, rogues, fighters, and mages, has access to distinct skills and spell trees. Encounters require careful management of positioning, cooldowns, and limited-use abilities, as well as cooperation between characters to exploit enemy weaknesses.

Progression allows characters to gain experience, level up, and unlock new powers across branching ability trees. Equipment and loot are gathered from defeated enemies, chests, and merchants, with gear enhancing armor ratings, attack strength, or adding magical effects. Inventory management includes assigning consumables, upgrading weapons, and outfitting companions with gear suited to their roles.

In addition to the main campaign, the game introduces a Dungeon Master Mode. This system allows one player to act as a dungeon master, building encounters, placing traps and enemies, and adjusting difficulty on the fly. Other players join as adventurers, creating a multiplayer experience resembling a tabletop session. Dungeon Master Mode supports both prebuilt modules and improvised encounters, blending cooperative play with player-driven storytelling.
