About

Despite sharing the same name as the 1979 handheld by Tiger Electronics, this 1988 Sub Wars handheld is wholly different.

The player must shoot down enemy submarines using an arsenal of torpedoes. A "super-sonar" detector can be used to locate enemy subs, though energy is consumed when doing so. Ten points are earned for destroying an enemy sub, while the player must either avoid getting hit by enemy mines or lessen their impact by activating the protective shield. If the player's sub is hit twice by enemy mines, then the game is over.

All enemies must be destroyed before the player sub's energy runs out to advance to the next level. Level 1 features 10 enemy subs, and each level features an additional 5 subs, which move increasingly faster. There are nine levels total and also support for two players to compare scores.
