About

Spuds Quest is an adventure platformer and a fan-made Dizzy clone. Spud looks quite similar to Dizzy (Dizzy is a walking egg, Spud a walking blue ball) and the gameplay is largely identical to the Dizzy games. It combines inventory puzzles (only three items can be carried at once, like in most Dizzy games) and platform jumping with a few pixel jumps. It can be saved at any time, but only in a few places, marked by floating blue crystals.

King Arthur is looking for treasure hunters who could find three treasures: the golden hen, the golden harp and the golden chalice. The one to find them all will be awarded a position in the King's service. On the way to achieve this goal Spuds journeys through several areas, including a treehouse village, an ancient temple, a town, an ocean and even a hidden fairy world.

The author was never fully satisfied with the game an started working on a new version quite soon. It received funding on Kickstarter and was released in early August 2013. It features a greatly expanded game world and a completely different story. The first version of the game remains free.
