About
Lawrence and Holo take a break from their traveling days in a water mill in order to shelter from a rain. There, the water mills sparks the topic of Lawrence possibly running a bakery when he settles down between them.
The Story mode of Spice and Wolf VR functions as short side-story chapters in Spice and Wolf canon - in consideration of Hasekura's credit as the scenario writer. The player has a very limited set of interactions in Story mode: Look around to follow Holo's actions, stare at hidden gold coins for an achievement, and jump around the story scenes using a "Skip mode".
After the credits roll in the Story mode, the game unlocks an Interact mode. Here, the time of day in the water mill freezes at dawn while the player stays in this mode indefinitely. There is a little more interaction capability in Interact mode. By staring at highlighted objects around the water mill for a few seconds, the player can draw Holo's attention to get a reaction from her. There is a checklist to the left on the bench containing a list of reactions that can be gotten from Holo in this mode. Hidden gold coins are visible in Interact mode but cannot be collected for achievements.
