About
Soldat is a side-view action game with simple controls. Having certain similarities to Worms, the game combines gameplay simplicity with on-screen mayhem. There are single player modes for quick battles, however the game's focus is on multiplayer play.
The game begins as soon as the player presses the start button. The player character, spawning at a starting location, can choose up to ten weapons to use; once done so, he can move around the screen left, right, down (crouch) and up (jet boots). Using the mouse to aim his weapons, the player's goal is to kill the other player characters, and attain the highest score.
Some weapons aim properly with a continuous stream of fire (machine guns, miniguns), others are full of power in one shot (sniper rifle, shotgun) and are slow to reload, or, on the contrary, load fast but don't contain much power in each individual shot. Certain weapons are noticeably affected by gravity. Each player also has a jetpack to aid in jumping, falling and firing from the air. Medical kits and special ammo boxes spawn around each level while the players work to destroy each other's avatars. Successful completion of a level is based on kill count within a specified time limit.
